The bond that is shared between horse and rider is something otherworldy and horse owning has most definitely shaped who I am as a person. I grew up as an APHA show kid, so I like to think these roots in breed shows have given me a unique approach to painting as I have first-hand experience, particularly on pinto patterns and how to represent them. These days I am getting back into showing with my new mare Good To Shine, or Lola. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Just as long as I have been riding and showing, I have been collecting model horses. Of course they started as toys and trinkets, and then as collection pieces and works of art! I started painting model horses in 2015, grabbing any unlucky model I could find off my shelves for experiment. I started by painting them after my own horses, and eventually, friend&#8217;s horses as gifts. I soon realized that this was my true calling, and I began to turn it into a business. Recently I have integrated myself more in the hobby and have been creating pieces for collectors that aren&#8217;t necessarily painted after any horse in particular. Although I haven&#8217;t been showing the models for very long (my first qualified show was fall of 2019), they have won many NAN cards and ribbons, both with me and customers. <em> <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>For as long as I can remember, and even before then, I have been riding.
